That’s a pretty terrible review by G4. It’s the type that made me not take G4 - or Adam Sessler seriously for *years*.

That being said, I find it silly to take issue with the term “JRPG”. It’s descriptive - in that it suggests it’s a linear narrative - likely with minor side missions that have no effect on the overall

Hopefully, I shouldn’t have to explain the fuckery of stereotyping”

Blows my mind how this site seems to find a negative angle in nearly every story, no matter how benign, but when confronted with a guy convicted of assaulting his girlfriend it’s limited to a single note tucked away in parentheses between enthusiastic accounts of how great he was.

This guy was not only a serial abuser of multiple of his girlfriends, he was also credibly accused of raping an 11-year-old, and the only reason the settlement was thrown out of court was because of the case occurring outside the statute of limitations.

I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you don’t know that Mr. Sizemore was fired from a 2003 movie (“Born Killers”) for molesting an 11 year old (once crewmembers found out, they had to be stopped from going to his trailer, hammers in hand), not to mention a plethora of law suits involving

I feel like 2000’s Zelda installment Majora’s Mask is sometimes overshadowed by the game before it, Ocarina of Time, or even the one after it, Twilight Princess,

Everyone in the Yakuza series throwing their shirts and jackets off without unbuttoning them.

Cecil’s rework from Dark Knight to Paladin was pretty darn iconic as far as costume changes go. Yuna going from priestess to gunslinger half-skirt idol is a heck of a change too, thanks FFX-2

It’s good that you’re seeing motion control sparingly, it means it’s only being used when it can add something to the experience instead of being shoehorned into everything for the sake of it.

Off the top of my head, Sony has paid to keep the following third-party content off of Xbox (either permanently or temporarily) during the PS4 and PS5 generations:

If you really want to be strict about it, games omit a lot of everyday life things because games are supposed to be a break from reality. I’d also say you should play more sims(genre). Sure a lot are ridiculous(power wash simulator, goat simulator, etc.), but those generally do represent everyday things being

I don’t want to play ‘life’!

“Relatable” is the scourge of creativity. I just want “interesting.”

While I get what you’re trying to say, just gonna throw this out there; a lot of the “everyday” activities described here are still escapism for someone like me, who has only ever lived in an American suburban sprawl environment where these are absolutely not common everyday occurrences that I can relate to.

(Posting this here, because I literally CAN’T post it where I’m trying to)

I didn’t buy the game, but not buying the game isn’t going to do anything to stop legislation. You shouldn’t justify harassment, justifying harassment is what leads to people born into different situations creating legislation that acts to restrict the bodily autonomy of individuals.

Harassment, doxxing of friends and families, death threats, rape threats, etc. are also brain-poisoned and mind-addled — and that’s exactly what many innocent YouTubers have been getting from trans supporters for playing Hogwarts Legacy (feel free to conduct your own research). You’re trying to downplay the harassment

I saw some of the stuff being thrown at Pikamee, it definitely wasn’t “just threatening to unsub”. In both her original tweet and her reply she was constantly called a transphobe, told to off herself, sent death threats, told that she was directly killing trans people, and had trans and ‘ally’ accounts celebrate her

“Because Pikamee’s Hogwarts Legacy tweets have been deleted, it’s hard to get a holistic view of how strongly people actually opposed her stream, though evidence suggests the criticism was clear in its disappointment but did not seem to escalate to harassment.”

I wouldn't take much of what Sisi says at face value. I'm a queer person, and find a lot of her takes pretty unnuanced. (Which isn't to say I think people should support JKR. I won't be buying this game and tell people I know I don't think they should, either.)
