It won’t be dlc. It’ll be a new version ALA The Golden/Royal. It’s what Atlus does. It’s disappointing, but I’m shocked so many didn’t “see it coming”...
God, the motion blur in the demo is awful on “Graphics” and still pretty bad on “Performance" and there’s no toggle to turn it off. Oh, and performance doesn’t even have a solid frame rate.
It’s 5 dollars more than Hearts of Stone was. Jesus. Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill.
I’m sorry, but you’re dead wrong. Yes, I HAVE played the games before, sure, and I don’t mind re-buying them at a fair price, but when the company promises to put back in content that was cut, that I had never been able to play, it made me buy the game when I otherwise wouldn’t have.
“That same year it announced a remake of the first Knights of the Old Republic at a PS5 showcase that immediately generated tons of excitement.”
Nah. They knew what they were doing leaving it out. In a few days they’ll stealth update the article, or MAYBE do another article for more clicks, I’d say the odds are 60/40 on those two options.
Someone let Dankpod know that he can now review a LITERAL Nugget.
Yes, because they renewed the licenses on the music when they put out the remastered version, so they turned back on the original version at the same time.
That is only true if you assume they WOULD have released it at 70 dollars. Considering Alan Wake isn’t a huge name that would definitely sell gangbusters (look at how long it took them to make a sequel) I seriously doubt they would have tried charging 70 for it regardless. Them hinting that they might have seems more…
That number is bunk. It’s counting pcs, where there’s no choice, and more importantly mobile games. (The article you linked even says as much) The number is no where near that high on consoles.
That spiel about discs being a download code is mostly FUD anyway (except on Xbox, thanks to “smart delivery”) Most games discs still are complete and fully playable. There’s even a community that tests them out without day 1 patches to let people make informed decisions when it comes to future-proofing.
Thats nice. But you always had the chance to get it digitally. That doesn’t mean they should remove the option for those of us who want it physically. And disc rot is less likely with blu-rays but even if it werent, I still have my Sega CD collection that all works, over 30 years later and I just played Shining Force…
Here’s a better example. The GTA series. Multiple times they’ve released patches in multiple different games that removed songs even from those who bought the game long before they lost the license to the songs.
I was referring to single disc games that require a download because they couldn't fit it all on one disc and wouldn’t ship it with a second (or even third) disc, not physical releases as a while.
Even more annoying there that it’s an Epic Game Store exclusive, and probably for good, not on a timed delay, since Epic is funding the development. And I’ve yet to see a Steam-like sale price on games on the EGS...
There are ways to sell games that don’t involve Gamestop.
That is usually not true (excluding the Xbox). https://www.doesitplay.org/
You’d be surprised how playable MOST games on the discs without a day 1 patch actually are. There’s actually a community (https://www.doesitplay.org/) dedicated to playing games without the patches, using only what is on the disc, to see if they can be completed and therefore are worth purchasing for future proofing.
This is not (YET) the norm, at least on PS5 and Switch. And even if it were, it should ALSO get pushback. It does NOT cost companies much to print 2 or even 3 discs if needed to give people the entire game. It’s them either being cheap, or saving themselves pennies.
