It’s a shame that Ghost Song has taken so long to develop (1 person dev team) that there’s been a glut of Metroidvania games released since it was Kick-started that it’ll likely be dismissed as just another game jumping on that bandwagon. The demo is great.

Yeah, that’s my biggest issue with the remake, Joel looks much older which I could take or leave, but ELLIE... She looks like a little adult now instead of a child. It’s so off-putting.

I’d argue that there was A LOT more innovation in graphics between RE1 and the REmake than there’s been since LoU, and especially the already upgraded remaster.

Modernized gameplay’s just a nicer way of saying ‘we slapped it into the LOU2 engine, so it gets any benefits already there’.

Spider-man is probably a more apt comparison than you even meant, seeing as this LOU remake is probably just here to make the story, and art style, more in line with the sequel, just as the Spider-man upgrade was just to make Spidey look more like Tom Holland.

This was my first thought and I’m surprised more people aren’t realizing it. This ‘remake’ is just to make it more in line with the hated sequel. They’ll likely add additional story points to make Joel’s actions less ambiguous and more ‘evil’.
