Not horrible, just different, noticeably so for someone who played the original. Like the difference between the SNES and GBA Final Fantasy games. If my memory serves, it was basically because the songs were being done on two different midi chips with different abilities.

Seconded, the Gamecube is better in all departments but sound, the sound is definitely 'off' in the GCN version but if you never played the DC version you wouldn't notice... It's worth the tradeoff in sound quality for the reduced random battle rate and the extras.

Agreed, and this is an important step for Nintendo to deal with, perception of non-gamers. They still have the issue of the WiiU looking like some tablet add-on to the Wii. They should completely redesign the console to look very different from the current WiiU and for the love of god stop saying 'upgrade to WiiU' in

Funny, I was just about to say "So you think they should make the next Viva Pinata..." =-)

This. So much this. In fact, movies and TV are less for it as well. No longer are bombastic soundtracks or tracks that tug your heartstrings used anymore, now it's ambiance and not getting in the way. Meh. A soundtrack should still stand out while complimenting a movie, not fade into the background. See Star Wars 4-6.

...............

I remember how much I enjoyed the iTunes App store when it launched, cool games, 5-10 bucks each, that's it.

That's kinda what I thought it was supposed to be before watching this trailer. Now I'm much less interested in it. I was hoping for world building not just Gordon investigating Bruce's parents death, and seeing how young Bruce dealt with it. I was expecting a crime drama that happened to be in the city of Gotham and

What is Dead Monkey? I googled it and can't seen to find whatever it is you referenced.

Very cool but the important question is... Will it still have the Yes song for the intro? :P

Kirk, I hope you're planning on doing an extensive review. Maybe even a look back at the series while you're at it. Tex deserves no less.

Yes they can. For example, Google "desert" and see how beautiful and varied those pictures are, yet somehow these games manage to all look the same and bland as hell. It's not reality vs fantasy. It's poor art direction plain and simple. That's what happens when games are churned out on a 2 year dev cycle like CoD is.

I agree completely except for Ryse. To me, Ryse looks typical and generic, it's technically competent but has terrible style. For an Xbone example I'd swap in Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare. It's gorgeous, much prettier (both stylistically and technically) than it has any right to be considering what it is.

I swear it sounded like he called it Age of Voltron.

Why did Facebook buy Oculus?

I thought it was "drug use is wasted youth", which makes a lot more sense than "drug youth".

Your naivety is cute. Either you were a VERY sheltered child or you just forget what it was like. In the 80s it was Eddie Murphy's RAW or Faces of Death. In the 90s it was Dream On, Mortal Kombat and South Park (Both the show and movie)... Not to mention porn movies/magazines. No matter the era, kids will watch/look

As someone with both, I definitely prefer the PS4, and would suggest it over the Xbone. Infamous (so far) is much better than Titanfall, which is fun, but nothing special. I definitely like some of the things it adds to the FPS Genre, it just hasn't grabbed me and held my attention either. The System UI is horrible.

I'd never cared for RPGs until FF4... I'd played a few and they never clicked. It was this epic music combined with the first hour or two (and the rest of the music) that drew me in and made me the RPG fan I am today. Once I had Rydia in my party there was no way I was stopping playing it, rental late fees be damned.

I own the 3 in 1 and it works perfectly.
