So, no more “ring around the rosey” then? Should we ban it from nursery schools?

Instead of making it all go away, how about using it to educate your daughter about why you think it is out of date or wrong? You are basically doing exactly the same thing as Sharia law by expecting everything you find offensive be wiped out because you don’t like it.

If we went around changing every song, book or phrase that was considered offensive now compared to then, we would be changing what is historically and contextually correct just to make ourselves feel better. Are you going to go back and change Shakespear’s plays because you don’t like his language and find it

The subtext is that she wants to stay and get romantic, but that the only way she’s allowed to have “sex” is via rape (Hence the quotation marks), or a cover story of having been raped.

Does he really though? I read somewhere that the whole thing is a ponzi scheme of sorts and that all of his wealth was based more in stocks that he owned in the companies he is involved with - which are dropping like a stone due to the arrest....

Aw, shucks! Thanks :D.... It’s hard to explain to people sometimes that the industry is nothing like anything they read/see/watch.

Blame it on the fast fashion consumption. People want cheap clothing, fast and on trend. It’s cheap and they can feel ok if they don’t wear that trendy dress next year.

I am not making excuses. I am trying to explain to you what happens in the fashion industry, as someone who works in it.

It depends on the design. And the audience that it is aimed at.

You might be surprised to know that there are many very talented fashion designers at high end and low end places that are underpaid for the amount of work they do. The burn out rate can be high. Even when one is well compensated, your work-life balance is nil. Making it not worth it.

Honestly, I don’t think it is lazyness. Fashion designers who have runway shows - especially any time before 2000 - are mostly considered “artists” and for someone to tell them to mainstream or resize their “art” is like telling Picasso that his blue period must be changed to green because the public faovors green

The fashion industry doesn’t even have standards on what any particular size is. A four from Old Navy is not a four from Zara. In fact a four in dress pants is not the same as a four in jeans or khakis. They can’t even keep consistency throughout their own lines.

My mother said something similar, but minus the taking the guns away. Just that Obama was going to bring martial law (I think it was right after he was re-elected).

Does he know anybody clean?

Hasn’t he been baptized a few times now??

Also why is “tied me up” in quotes?

That’s because they have a separate design team for the European market.... In Europe.

Shades of FKA Twigs? Shades of the Pixies? Interesting. I want to hate it, but I really don’t. I kind of like it?

So, the IDF and the women Kurds fighting in the middle east are not working just as hard as their male counterparts? That they aren’t tough enough mentally or physically to handle battle??

I’m pretty sure that the people who give themselves “adulting” awards and whatnot are the same kids that were getting awards for participation - but now are of “adult age”
