I don’t know about now, but I have fried a motherboard in the past by connecting the cable leads to the wrong pins, I had the manual upside down. This was 16 years ago though, when I briefly worked assembling custom ordered systems for a local computer shop.

I just built a new rig for my dad, and the damn mobo manual wasn’t even a manual! It was just a brief overview of locations (Front header pins here!), and a QR code to the complete manual...
