It’s not a silly excuse, it’s fucking reality. There is no obligation on the customer because they have already contracted the labor they are doing with the restaurant. they are doing it on the behave and benefit of the business, not the customer. That’s not an “excuse” that’s FUCKING REALITY. and denying it just make

Are you for real? I can’t believe anyone is actually this stupid. The work they are doing is absolutely under contract with the restaurant. Explicitly. They agreed with the restaurant to do labor for them. Explicitly. The restaurant makes profit off that labor. The contract also stipulates that they get paid more if

I did avail myself of that labor. The labor they ALREADY CONTRACTED to the restaurant. The work they are doing is under agreement with another entity. That’s why it’s NEVER the customers obligation. There is already an agreement in place for that labor with another party.

That’s just one of the reasons your whole

I’m sure they can. I doubt it happens.

It’s not a moral obligation either, because again, I did not make any agreements with the servers about their compensation. That fact is very important. Yes, if you go to the restaurant you get served. And even if you don’t tip, you paid for the labor. That’s part of the bill. And there is a legal obligation on the

And you’re a fucking idiot for assuming that I don’t tip at all.

Here’s a tip for you: don’t be a moron. The people around you just keep you around to laugh and your dumb ass.

Tips are optional. That’s the system we have. Sorry facts are inconvenient for you.

Just FYI, I DO tip. Arguing that tipping is BS and optional doesn’t mean I do not personally tip people. I’m not a fan of the system, but I’m not ever going to say that a customer owe the employees salary. NEVER. The concept is fucking

Because no one is ENTITLED to tips from customers! People can eat out as long as they can pay the meal as LEGALLY required.

If I can’t afford to tip I’ll still eat wherever the fuck I want to and all the entailed assholes telling other people what to do can’t do shit about it. Enjoy your powerlessness.

I am aware of minimum wage laws. I live in a state that does not allow for a lower tipped wage AND we have a very high minimum wage overall. And BTW,

Even if the minimum wage was a lower tipped wage, it still would not be the customers OBLIGATION to pay anyone’s wages. That’s still on the employer. The employer is

It’s not the whole country, servers make different wages in different states not all of which allow for a lower tipped minimum.

Pay. People. For. Their. Labor.

ah, fairly compensate them for their work - the essence of labor rights.

Do you really expect people to take you seriously when you say dumb shit like not tipping enough is stealing labor? That’s fucking ridiculous.

Yes people say now that it has gone up. I don’t listen to them and still tip 15%.

There is no moral obligation to tip 20%.

That’s some of the dumbest entitlement shit I ever heard.

15% has been the standard tip since I was a child, as taught to me by my waitress mother. I see no need to change that. Especially since I live in a state with a pretty high minimum wage and no tipped wage. Tipping is out of hand and needs to be done away with entirely. Servers should make a living wage without tips.

Either they told you guys things that were not in writing and you didn’t actually have to do, or your grandmother and/or who ever was helping her when she bought the mobile home, signed a contract and voluntarily accepted those limitations! Yes, they are assholes but it sounds like you guys are also dumb.
