In my youth, as a relatively cheap guy, I never splurged for good tires. Then a few years ago I replaced the OEM crappy tires on our RX350 for some Michelins and it was life changing. Even on a porky Lexus suv, it makes a world of difference.

Not so much. The charges are typically filed by the agency, and not “prosecuted” by anyone. The cop is a witness for the state and doesn’t have authority to plea bargain. There’s no lawyer putting on a case. If there’s plea bargaining by a defendant, it’s bargaining with the court itself. That’s typically how it works…

I don’t think it said about this case but in most places, infractions are directly filed by the citing agency and not the DA’s office.

Do you think that’s generally based on age or miles? This suffers from both but I’m constantly tempted by old-low mileage BMW’s.  Are they a better bet than newer-high mileage alternatives?  What kills the plastic, age or miles?

I want one, but it’s just too hard to plunk down that kind of cash with all of the teething problems. In three years, after they’ve worked out the kinks, maybe.

I can’t imagine doing this. I’ve had a couple of motorcycles (fast ones), and it’s much scarier to be on the back of anyone else’s bike at any speed.
