I have many stories. But one was when a truck tipped over on its side and I drove underneath it. Another truck tipped at the exact same spot later that week near me. I had a truck in front of me have a sheet of steel come off, and I drove underneath it as it went up.

I LIKE !

Cross-eyed Ferrari?

I've seen some of my Dad's movies of bi-planes landing on the deck of the carrier he was on, USS Wasp CV-7. British planes; flew into/backwards-at the carrier not in the same direction.

sucked

wasted

I have seen that plane. It's HUGE, for what it is. No spruce goose, but big.

that road does not look very thick

@silverserver: I just finished the book CHURCHILL (Paul Johnson) today. In it they mentioned Germany's buildup after Treaty of Versailles.

My dad's carrier had bi-planes land on it during WWII. They were British, and had to land backwards compared to normal landings. That is, the plane and ship were headed towards one another.

one man's art is another man's waste of time

I remember when I bought my canon L2, they advertised it with lunar close-ups.

Block is 2nd to Lady Gaga for over-hyped personality.

That's all I need to know for the rest of my life about Land Rovers

My friend's dad had a holster on his handlebars and carried his revolver there. Presumably for big bad dogs, though.

@duodsg: @FThorn: Last night's BBC QI program mentioned a Yamaguchi that survived BOTH atomic bombs dropped on Japan.

This reminds me of a time not long after 9/11 attacks where a truck carrying a backhoe practically sliced through a bridge. I thought that instead of bombs, all a terrorist needed was something like that to slice up bridges and hamstring our infrastructure.

Surgical procedure (for survival, not vanity) known as Ivor-Lewis resulting in my stomach being in my throat has kept me looking anorexic. I do not recommend it for anyone, mind you.

My dad felt the first atom bomb dropped on Japan. He lived a long life. I would not be surprised if we see another nuke used in our lifetime. And in a way I think it has the potential to be a collective sigh of relief since the world has been holding its breath since WWII on this. Not that I would want it, not that it
