The more time I can spend out of menu’s in a game(especially with lots of quests), the better - but yeah, sucks that the tradeoff  was a quick way to swap weapons. It was annoying to constantly hit “Y” to cycle through my four weapons. I can’t recall if holding Y brought up a weapon wheel, but that’s even slower.
