This guy is nuts - he makes these assumptions that everyone is juvenile and uneducated. Whenever people do that it just makes them look foolish. A) One doesn't need to be a software developer to offer a general opinion on anything (especially the real life usefuleness of a feature), and B) I have a great deal of

agreed - you got here before me. This is energy conversion, not creation.

agree with you 100 percent. The mobile comparison is completely appropriate - actually, it is even biased in jryan's favour. My cellphone battery is only 1400 mAh - the average ultrabook battery is about three times that. If our cell phones can last 1-2 days doing this, laptops can too.

Nope, the first reply was correct- you are worried about something completely foolish. STAYING CONNECTED, or CONSTANTLY searching for an available network would drain the battery quickly. Briefly connecting on a schedule will do nothing really - and if no network is found, it can be set to stop searching.

I have given up waiting for Discreet/Discrete to be used properly. Most people who like to talk about "the worst faux pas in grammar" are not even aware of this one. Well spotted.

I just got back from Costa Rica where my girlfriend and I were robbed. I was not surprised - nor were we alone in our experience. We stand out - even though McAfee had gone fairly 'native' by all accounts, there is no way the rich white guy did not draw attention. We consider ourselves lucky to have gotten out of that

well, its the Hyrule rupee exchange rate that really throws it into disarray. Without the giant's wallet the particle count won't roll over past 99

Yes, phone surveys are fallible - but you don't actually expect someone to ask every person in NY before a poll can be published, do you? It is called a sample size, and they generally include a margin of error. To be statistically significant it must be accurate +/- 3%, 19 times out of 20.

Definitely - win/win for the band and the cause.

I agree with all of these points - even the last. Apple cannot claim that user returns are the only standard of proof for disatisfaction. Online blogs, forums etc will surely attest to the problem - and, just like a car, one would not return the entire product for a small quibble.

same thoughts. Loved that interview in "exit through the gift shop" - some people cannot participate, they just make noise.

well, my comment was made heavily in jest. I do not think that cartoon cards will escort you away for deviance. BUT through a 21st century lens, I do think it is unwelcome to be surrounded by your workplace all the time. There was a recent Giz article about London businesses offering sleeping capsules to their

lol not really - but they seem to think that if a hacker has five monitors he is five times as powerful

It would be easy if the had that 5-monitor set-up from Swordfish.

The usage is entirely relevant. Kodak was not enriching anything - they were using what they were given. They were not making more, and they did not sell it. Until you know what the uses were how can you make that comment?

Same thoughts! Imagine tomorrow's giz headline: Hospitals found to be using radioactive materials.....

It's called Celebration, Florida - and yes it is scary.

seconded. My first thoughts were -1) Kodak used to be a HUGE deal - its not like the U.S government installed this reactor in a struggling company

Sounds awesome - the Pis are amazing and versatile. Sounds like you are kinda doing what Logitech squeezeboxes aim for.
