“What if this abstract concept could walk and talk and quip” continues to get progressively fucking stupider.

I loved Inside Out and also appreciated Soul, but like...while this sounds whimsical on paper, Pixar, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll translate to a good movie.

Also this feels like it could just be a rehash

I’m reading that as just someone saying in a light-hearted, trash-talking tone. Like they’re at a sporting game. Not someone who’s trying to tear down another for the point of being mean spirited and insulting. So this is no big deal to me.

If there’s anything I know about Gilbert Gottfried, it’s that he would want nothing more than to have us make tasteless jokes about his death less than a week afterwards. Afraid I can’t think of any right now, but RIP regardless.

I am very disappointed in AVClub not making the Futurama revival a news article IMMEDIATELY.

I prefer Absurdle.

What about this guy?

Yeah, I can see how Updike’s “Rabbit” series, dealing with a stereotypical white American man facing aging and his own mortality can be at times unsettling (both intentionally and unintentionally), but calling it “horror” is a bit much.

Going to be some great John Updike jokes and headlines about this title when reviews come out.

Most likely most kids have heard about the show by word of mouth and haven’t actually seen it— and they heard about it in the first place from older siblings trying to scare them— and just the thrill of something so violent yet ostensibly about games they understand existing is enough for ALL the kids to be talking

I hope no one knows who I am through my kinja account. The last thing my constituents need is more ammunition against their Prime Minister.

Yes, but time has no meaning any more.

Burt died in 2018.

As much as I think the Matrix sequels are... fine, there’s something appealing to me about a filmmaker returning to the franchise that made their career after 20+ years behind the camera, and giving it another go.

And Kai? He’s on the run, with what I think is the series’ first fade-to-black mid-episode moment. (There are cameras all over the resort, I would assume, and it’s not like Kai’s balaclava and baseball hat hide his height, body type, or employee uniform. I’m worried.)

Of course the rating sucked. Like, who gives a shit anymore. When I was a kid the Olympics was an event; Americans were really into the Olympics because we wanted to beat the Soviets, our great national enemy. Now, our national enemy is literally us, or at least the other half of these here United States, whichever

An interesting inversion from the Ancient Greek Olympics, where despite little to no coverage, you could see everything.

While I’m generally not a fan of the slideshow articles this site puts together, I’d like to see one where you list out all the movie reviews this site has given an F. You can title it “F This.

Everybody knows Cormac McCarthy isn’t online and tweeting. What Twitter presupposes is...maybe he is?

His feet are light and nimble. He never tweets. He says that he will never die. He dances in light and in shadow and he is a great favorite. He never tweets, the McCarthy. He is dancing, dancing. He says that he will never die.

Nice tongue-in-cheek headline there, folks.
