I was just talking to someone who works at Simon & Schuster as a publicist and is not happy that they are doing this. Balls are totally fair game. Men do it in fights all the time, Hollywood uses ball strikes ad nauseum, in my mind it’s a fair target. I’ve taught both my daughters specifically how to ball strike an assailant as it’s the easiest way to incapacitate a larger attacker. Yeah it hurts. It hurts like hell. That’s the point.

I get where he was coming from, at the heart. The issue is in the essential difference between how men and women interpret the world and the actions of people in it. Men don’t get harassed sexually or touched inappropriately in general. Most of us think we’d like it, but don’t realize that nobody likes to feel small.

Or that they did care. The whole point of the game was to humiliate and piss her off. So it’s not that they didn’t know it was unkind (or wrong). THAT WAS THE POINT. They were just going to keep going until there was an actual consequence—like a ballshot.

Sounds to me like they knew she hated it, but she lauged it off to belong. Going back to my point: If you don’t want to get hit in the balls, don’t touch a woman in a way that she doesn’t like.
