The overuse of “literally” drives me crazy too. I used to think that they also misused the word but, in a sign of the Apocalypse, the definition of the word was changed to accommodate the misuse. Merriam-Webster has a good piece about it:

I’m pretty sure he’s just a troll who started as tomato face and kept getting banned, so now he pops up as various iterations of his original username. Since the election he’ll say something pro Clinton or pro Bernie and then quickly steer into bat shit crazy land. He starts off with something kind of innocuous but…

I’ve made my peace with the fact that I’m not going to even try to get people to where they should be, nor expect them to. The vast majority of people out there either lack the mental ability or the emotional attachment to “get it”.
