I think they missed an opportunity here, and I agree with you. I think June should have escaped to Canada, and they should have put the focus on a new Handmaid for the Waterfords. Probably someone, like Eden, who never knew what life was like outside of Gilead. (maybe even Eden, if they didn’t kill her) Then focus on…

I liked Theo’s story in Sabrina. I wish we had gotten a bit more of it in the first half. 

I think there is a good story to be told of how bullied men who could be perceived as victims go down the incel path, and I think Black Mirror can tell it.

15 Million Merits is one of the most perfect introductions to a television show. It’s not the best, but it presents a dystopian world that’s immediately recognizable. A world we don’t need a lot of backstory on, and yet we know everything is going on.

I think it even could have been improved by switching back and forth between this world, and a world in which they didn’t end up together. Confuse us.

My issues with it are similar to Hang the DJ. We simply don’t know enough to know why this was done, but unlike Hang the DJ, it’s just so... nonsensical. 

It was a very enjoyable episode. i was in no way putting it down. But in the end... what did it mean? We saw one variation of their relationship which showed a 98% match in... the real world? Our world? Was it basically Tinder? Was it their world, but heightened? Was it something different?

Onslaught. This movie should have been Onslaught.

I’m with you on a lot of this. I think I liked Hang the DJ more than you did, but I kind of agree it’s a sweet episode, but what does it really say except that an app found them compatible in a world we don’t quite understand, because everything up until then was a lie. I think what Hang the DJ is missing is context.

I don’t understand the hate for “Shut up and Dance” and the meh-ness for “White Bear.” To me, these are the best because they ask you to spend an entire episode sympathizing for these people who are going through something grueling. They’re being tortured but an unseen force while you get more and more invested in…
