Trolls aside, my only real issue with Captain Marvel is going to be the first time I see it, when I keep watching every explosion, every attack, every interaction with Nick Fury, waiting for him to lose his damn eye. I promised myself I wouldn’t when they announced he’d be in this, but damnit... It’s going to happen.

Joking aside, the “ethics” argument was my favorite because so many trolls made it with a straight face while ignoring the ethics of sending death threats to women.

They also got hit with some of this on the other side, to be honest with you. The left doesn’t tend to tank rotten tomato scores as deliberately for these movies, but I do remember the infamous Slate article that called attention to the scene where she’s lifting a tank, and her armpits are shaved.

I absolutely, 100% believe it’s wrong for this to happen. The movie isn’t out and it’s a group with a terrible agenda.

Fun fact: Shatterhand was also the name of the hero in a series of racist (even for the time) young adult novels written by a German man. Each story was the same, Shatterhand would go somewhere in America (the writer had never been) meet another German, then go fight Native Americans.

Honestly... they should have made this Iron Man 3, gotten rid of Iron Man 3, and made Civil War as Avengers 2. That would have been a better setup for Infinity War. They could have pulled back on the number of Avengers vs. Ultrons, made it a more personal story of how Tony was slowly losing his grip on what it means…
