Honestly the Opening Ceremony is one of those events where you have to watch with everyone on Twitter to make it more fun. Not everyone is going to be able to watch it live, so I think I'll take my chances with the delayed NBC feed with the US bias that I so want.

I thought this episode was appallingly telegraphed to the point of utter blandness, however I'm really impressed with this interpretation (though it doesn't really make up for how out-of-character everyone was).
