This is ... brilliant.
This is ... brilliant.
This is what gets me the most about Kavanaughs behavior .... he almost literally screams for respect and outrage and yet when it comes to anything resembling the determination of the truth ... he shies away. You would think that someone aspiring to the post of supreme court justice would jump at the chance to clear…
IMHO, the injustice is undeniable. The question becomes what can be done for the short term? I see some incremental improvement in some areas of social justice, but nothing revolutionary to speed things up. ... and what change I did see, took the better part of half a century.
Divine-Fi or Di-Fi
This gives the 3 year old a bad name ... they have an excuse ... BK does not and not by a long shot. This would be bad if it were a ‘normal’ job ... let alone SCJ, for life no less.
... well, worse in a way, it shows his inability to handle himself in a stressful situation ... so a belligerent sober?
... that is a good point. I feel badly for critiquing Dr. Fords responses to questioning. Temper tantrums do not become a Supreme Court Justice.
... a few beers won’t get you staggeringly drunk unless you have a medical condition ... and apparently he was young and healthy.
So this is how a Supreme Court Justice acts in the face of accusation ... instead of just submitting to a Polygraph willingly ... and worse yet, asserting that “God wants him as a Supreme Court Justice” ... I think he put away the shovel and is now looking for a Oil Drill to dig deeper.
I admit, at first, I thought the reaction was extreme <the sheer amount of profanity was ... sobering> ... but after watching the clips ... I have to admit that anger is IMO, more than justified. I do not know how this all will play out, but when its all said and done ... I must say that I find Dr. Fords assertion to…
Yes. Remove the selective politics in favor of the broader, more effective goal. Sex and gender outside of a legal case based context should not be allowed to intrude.
... that thought passed through my mind ... I think it could have been used to good effect though ... with an offhand comment by Dr. Ford - something to the effect, Yes, I am greatly affected by even the thought of flying ... the fact that I look like this should give ample proof of that ...
Yes, very true ... thing is, I think it would have helped her case to explain such a context, in order to defuse unspoken implication and questioning intent. IMHO, even if undetected, it is only prudent to assume that such questioning has an oppositional agenda ... hence introductory context ... almost by default.
Consider the following angle ... Mitchell is smart and competent in her field ... now consider a more subtle avenue for the type of doubt she is attempting to sow - The doubt as to Dr. Ford’s ability to accurately convey herself in regards to internalized emotional states (and by implication) past historical events ...
I agree ... and posted that the line of question was ‘smart’ from the oppositions standpoint ...
While I am a strong advocate for Dr. Fords case ... I must admit that Mitchell’s line of inquiry is ... smart and it does open a line of reasonable speculation.
Upon reading your comment, the execution scene in Braveheart leapt into my brain.
Despite the fact that its coming from Trump, my eyes still cross over the implication ... “how credible Ford would seem” So no pause for the truth, but a full blown stop at how ‘believable’ ... I guess I shouldn’t be surprised ... he has the mentality of a successful used car salesman.
I am not a religious person. However, I believe if Eve were here to tell a tale, she would tell us it will NEVER BE ENOUGH.
Humans as a species, while granted <in general> superior cognitive capacity, still often rely on very basic psychological rules and instinct motivated behavior. Tragically in cases like this, behaviors will be rationalized and justified for the express purpose of wanting to maintain status quo ...
