somebody posted on a facebook

but it’s actually based on what like 10 super-assholes are doing in Manhattan.

This is and isn’t true. I’ve said this before, but while my friends who moved to NYC have a harder time finding a guy, my friends who grew up here didn’t. Most of the women I grew up with in the city are married or in long term “grown” up relationships b/c they don’t believe in marriage.

There was young woman, Lois Long, who wrote for the New Yorker whose job was to go out and report on the bad behavior of her white WASP peers in Manhattan during the Prohibition era. She was Carrie Bradshaw before the character existed.

Not even rich white kids. Just that the men of NYC are outnumbered by the women and so, can act like spoilt children while the women have to sit and wonder why, why, WHY isn’t he calling?

Not sure what I did to deserve that.

Necking Frenzy! Speakeasy Culture Ruins Courtships for Jazz Babies and Flappers!

People were also terrified of the waltz. All that hot hand on waist action! The youth of the 19th century had no morals, I’m telling you!

Oh my god I’m so glad there’s a space for me to express how stupid this article is. It’s literally the exact same article papers have been writing about rich white kids in Manhattan since the 1920s, updated each year to include the new technology and trend.

Ick. I have a handful of Thomas Sabo charms that I use to hang as pendants. They are far too expensive for children. Unless you use money like toilet paper.

She never really explained that to Greedy McWantsit. She told her that she couldn’t have them, but didn’t explain that it’s rude to ask people for things like that. Maybe she did after I left, but I doubt it.

That is so awkward. The other adults are in the wrong for encouraging that behavior because you have the right to say no. They shouldn't have been side eyeing you. I wear a jade necklace my father gave to me. I would never give it away to a random kid.

Holy shit, NO. I am a mother of many, and THATZ NOT OK. Jesus, people.

What a doll. Is the first shot a lifejacket or just a harness with handles? My last dog lived past 18 and handles made such a difference those last couple of years. I could help her without hurting her dignity.

ughhhh I love kids, but man some parents are so useless.

Beautiful dog

<3 sending so much love your way. I can only hope our dachshunds live that long.

I’m so sorry for your loss. From the pics though she seemed to have a hell of a life. Lots of internet hugs to you.

You know what’s awkward? Having an acquaintances 6 year old grab at my charm bracelet and then relentlessly beg me for two of the charms off of it.

My dog, Princess Trudy, died this afternoon. I’m overwhelmed with emotion, but amazed at the love outpouring from family and friends. She was 16 1/2, and had a great life.
