So far, 4 GOP senators* have said they won’t vote on a Supreme Court pick until after the inauguration. Not the election, the inauguration. There are a couple of others I can think of who are going to be doing some hard math this weekend and may also “advocate caution” or some such because their races are close enough…

Vote early.

If the Dems gain  control of the Senate and maintain control of the House, they can vote to increase the number of Justices on the Supreme Court.  This is the only way to counter Trump and Mitch’s court packing.

It looks like maybe that number is 51.

It may be what they have to do.  As if the next few weeks were not going to be painful politically. 

Please correct me I’m wrong, but doesn’t the senate still have the ability to vote in the months after the election and before the new senate is sworn in? If so then it doesn’t matter if Democrats gain the senate. Please tell I’m wrong. Because if so then I feel like Gene Wilder from Young Frankenstein. I DO NOT WANT…

Assuming that McConnell railroads through a replacement before the new Senate takes over on 3 January, it will be time for Biden and a Democratic Senate to pack the Supreme Court.

I’m sorry, my American friends. I know this couldn’t happen at a worse time. If you’ve been living in a cave and somehow didn’t realize how important it was to vote already, the stakes were just raised tenfold.

The Dems better not let the GOP get away with that whole “it’s OK because we control the Senate too” bullshit. 

Only a simple majority Senate vote is required to confirm a SC justice after the rules were changed in 2017.
