If it’s different characters, set in a different decade (but incompatible with the original, so can’t be a prequel) then it’s just an entirely new show. It should have its own name and identity, and not suck out all the oxygen in the atmosphere for an actual reboot.

The assumption that Shogun World is designed to appeal to rich white westerners is extremely ethnocentric and racist on it’s own. Shogun World may very likely be designed to appeal to rich Japanese clients in the same way Westworld was designed to appeal to a North American audience.
