My rep too! Barbara Lee is the best!
Except Jameela wasn’t always conventionally beautiful. She explained in a recent interview that her advocacy surrounding body positivity comes from personal experiences being born deaf, being heavy as a child and bullied about her weight, and in a serious accident that left her unable to walk for more than a year.…

Exactly. When my daughter is melting down, I get down on the floor and ask her if she needs a hug, offer a comfort object and if she’s up for it talk with her about how she’s feeling and why. Naming her emotions helps her calm down tremendously.
Totally agree. I’ve been reading Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids and Unconditional Parenting both of which focus on fostering the emotional connection with your child based on mutual respect as opposed to trying to control behavior through punishments or rewards. My daughter is only 19 months old but we can already talk…
That was my first thought when I saw it.
I never thought about the headphones. The story says the poster’s mom was yelling their name, so maybe that was loud enough, but it also says “just after I heard my parents enter, my mom yelled my name” or something like that. That part doesn’t really make sense.
I don’t think I ever saw the camping one with photos of the camper sleeping. Do you happen to know what year that was?
My mother-in-law gave me “Cooking for Jeffrey” when it came out because my husband’s name is Jeff. Haha. But it’s actually quite good. My husband also does 90% of the cooking though.
My mom made tuna noodle casserole as a kid, and I hated it. Also hated green bean casserole and tator tot hot dish apart from the tator tots. I was labeled a picky eater but it turns out I actually just had functioning taste buds.
Bahahaha! That dough-boy is like a living glob of cream of mushroom soup.
You’re not. I grew up in Minnesota in a Lutheran family where it was served at every holiday and large family gathering. It’s gross.
I appreciate you sharing this experience. I was so focused on getting to one year that I had no plan/vision for what weaning would be like. My daughter is 18 months and we naturally got down to nursing when she wakes up and at bedtime and sometimes before her nap on weekends. But she LOVES the two nursing sessions a…
I always laughed at and simultaneously felt sorry for kids with those dorky leash backpacks and never thought I’d use one. But, my in-laws watch my super busy 18-month old once a week and one Tuesday I came home to her wearing a monkey leash backpack on her front. Apparently she’ll often want to walk home from the…
But mocking them is one of my favorite things about Halloween!
Or in home pregnancy tests. That would actually be logical. But, a lot of stores stock pregnancy tests right next to condoms and lube so that aisle might be too risqué to traverse.
Craig (Jake Epstein) is a Broadway star now! He originated the role of Carole King’s first husband in “Beautiful.” Beautiful did its pre-Broadway run in San Francisco. When I saw it with my boyfriend (now husband), I freaked out when Epstein came on stage and totally had to text my younger Degrassi-loving sister…
I totally entrust you with a billion dollars.
My mom got them for me because my older sister started collecting the BSC books first, and I think it was a ploy to stave off conflict because apparently my sister and I could be possessive about books. But, I was only 18 months younger than my sister and found the Karen books to be too baby-ish.
