Yea, BMW has established an infrastructure to sell in one month (30K cars sold per month in the US) what Tesla has on deck for the X for the immediate future. So no, I doubt there’s ever a backlog at BMW (and why would you prepurchase when there is no expectation of shortage?). Maybe the i8 had them?

This is kind of a weird opinion. I mean, to get the same level of music streaming as this $8/mo Amazon service, you’ll pay $10/mo with Google, Apple or Spotify, right? And they still give you free Prime music if you want to stick with that. Don’t see what is “bullshit” about it.

That was my exact concern reading this article. But going through my wishlist of cd’s/mp3's, it seems like they have nearly everything and well above what was in Prime. Seems like a legit contender.

No, just no. The top interchange rate that V/MC issuers get is 2.2% (almost all of Amex is 3%) and, besides card not present, which is not based on card type, it’s on maybe 5% of cards. And frankly, most merchants don’t even get Interchange Plus pricing and thus don’t see the mix (they get a given price regardless…

So, in other words, credit card acceptance is the difference between life and death of a business? Then charging 2-3% of sales is a pittance. Clearly they are *not* getting screwed.

Let’s be honest: the site is focused on the lazy because we aren’t dealing in higher order math: it’s taking a Google map distance and multiplying it by MPG and $/G. But if that’s only half the cost of travel for tens of millions of us, and isn’t included in the “automated comparison”, why am I using the site?

Yeah... no tolls? Might be great for west/midwest folk but on the east coast it makes this virtually useless. It also doesn’t account for any wear and tear on the vehicle. There’s a reason that the federal mileage reimbursement rate is $0.54/mile and not the $0.10 that this site defaults to.

I’ve seen this maneuver in Maryland before (though not in a while). What they were doing in my cases is that it was police cars setting up speed traps and trying to disguise the cruisers (hide the lightbar, make it look like a disabled vehicle, whatever).
