No, just no. The top interchange rate that V/MC issuers get is 2.2% (almost all of Amex is 3%) and, besides card not present, which is not based on card type, it’s on maybe 5% of cards. And frankly, most merchants don’t even get Interchange Plus pricing and thus don’t see the mix (they get a given price regardless

So, in other words, credit card acceptance is the difference between life and death of a business? Then charging 2-3% of sales is a pittance. Clearly they are *not* getting screwed.

Screwed? Then why are they accepting credit cards if it’s such a bad deal for them?

Let’s be honest: the site is focused on the lazy because we aren’t dealing in higher order math: it’s taking a Google map distance and multiplying it by MPG and $/G. But if that’s only half the cost of travel for tens of millions of us, and isn’t included in the “automated comparison”, why am I using the site?

But... if I have to do everything manually... why am I using this?

Yeah... no tolls? Might be great for west/midwest folk but on the east coast it makes this virtually useless. It also doesn’t account for any wear and tear on the vehicle. There’s a reason that the federal mileage reimbursement rate is $0.54/mile and not the $0.10 that this site defaults to.

I’ve seen this maneuver in Maryland before (though not in a while). What they were doing in my cases is that it was police cars setting up speed traps and trying to disguise the cruisers (hide the lightbar, make it look like a disabled vehicle, whatever). Thus the driver has less warning before braking and more

And here we find a mysterious cooperative nature between two different species. This is the first time such cooperation was ever filmed and, perhaps, the last time.

This should dispel the notion that Apple products are overpriced.

Remastered? Really? It’s just a dream.

And on top of that, Murray shouldn’t get beat from that angle. He had a rough night including when he kicked into the goal. :(

At 50" diagonal, you need to be 6' or less away from the TV to see the value of 4k over 1080p. Like, you lie down and touch the tv with your hand while your feet are where you sit.

Thanks, Brant

Boofuckinghoo. Getting high on smack with a kid in the fucking car? May justice’s 12" boot be rapidly shoved up their asses.

I thought I wasn’t going to be able to differentiate 4K because of size/distance/pixel density issues. My couch is probably 10' away so most charts say I need an 80" 4K tv to see the difference between it and my 1080p. Most that I’ve read says the *only* reason to get 4K is to get HDR, which is the true future

I’m not sure what you mean. There are millions of merchants seeking money from thousands of credit card issuers. Likewise, the inverse is happening on things like returns and chargebacks (issuers getting money back from merchants). You don’t think a service in the middle serves both sides well?

I get tornadoes. I mean, they come with incredibly short notice. But there’s no excuse for getting hit by a hurricane. You have days of notice now. Unless those were inoperable (e.g. in mid-repair), that’s crazy.

You’re being pedantic. I plug in headphones into ONE jack and have input and output.

They aren’t points. They’re idiocy.

Not bidirectional? That’s odd. How have I made phone calls, controlled volume, made my phone play/pause music and swipe credit card information into phone jacks? Is this magic?
