It’s common for women to blame female victims of sex crimes. Back in the 70s I remember a couple of lawyers saying you never want women on the jury if you’re prosecuting a rape, because they almost always think the woman did something to “put herself in harm’s way.”

FYI they no longer announce early results until after the polls in California are closed. The reason is the Reagan-Carter contest in 1980 (I was two months too young to vote in that one, sigh). They announced the winner before the polls were closed in most Western states (including Colorado where I lived at the time),…
