There’s no NDA that I’m aware of.

I’ve been trying to dabble in as many different things as possible, but I think the familiars sold summoner for me.
I was dumb enough to pre-order via GMG. Hopefully that gets resolved.
Isn’t it sad that advertising is worth more than actual products or work?
Because people rightly don’t believe they will stay inconsequential and that it was originally said that it wouldn’t happen. I was okay with buying content as it came, in fact.. I did so. However, the gambling mechanic is abusive and counter to what they said when people were starting to invest (as players) in the…
But there are and has been, and likely will be DLC.
You’re the one that brought up legality though.
If it were illegal, we’d see many other studios getting hit for the same behavior.
The microtransaction issue is separate from my discussion on the DLC here, but while OVK may have been paid, the publisher needs to recover the investment. The cost doesn’t end just at the developer.
Which they have, but if the return isn’t enough, it stops.
With a launch price of $40 and only six heists, Payday 2 has come a long way. A lot of people love to complain about how much DLC there is and how the DLC sits at a total of $63 (without discounts).
The base game was only $40 (compared to $60+ for standard titles) and had only six heists to start with, and they’ve been doing major overhauls eve since. DLC may be double-the-price, but that’s TWO YEARS of content they’ve been doing with a whole bunch of free stuff that is not only fixes and mechanical changes, but…
I am NOT happy they’ve decided to go with Hollywood talent. Square Enix complained that their games were a failure because the costs weren’t recovered as a result of the talent. Sorry, but I’m terrified this is going to go the same way, and without a publisher to keep it in line.. especially with a list THAT big, I’m…
The problem was that when Origin came out, Steam’s support issues were not as bad as EA’s nor was Origin better than Steam. You can argue that Origin is better, and EA’s support is most certainly better from a response-time point of view, but at this point many people have their stuff locked to Steam.
The last ticket I had was a technical one. I didn’t even get a “we’re looking at it” until 3 months and 5 days passed, and even that was a generic “We’re sorry it took so long to get to you.. most of the time these issues are resolved by the time we get to them. Do you still have the problem?”
Yup. The result was that the DLCs were treated seperately, especially after the “there’s too much expensive DLC for one game!” constantly showed up in Train Simulator’s forums.
Doesn’t feel like a D&D simulator...
This is why I tend to stay away from MOBAs in the first place. This kind of behavior and this kind of mindset that seems so prevalent. Do people really need an outlet to be this crass to other real people?
That’s nice. I was tempted to get it, and now.. I can play it on the platform I want to play it on.
