Except now we also have (particularly gay men) people sleeping together without condoms and using only PreP or the reassurance that they don’t have HIV. As stated in the article, people are ending up more at risk of other STD/STIs, and some of them also have pretty life-altering consequences.

This is what kills me about the Democratic party, they are terrible at messaging and constantly miss out on opportunities to pick up some political capital. The message on this should be nothing but “Trump is taking from our soldiers and reducing support for our veterans for a wall he promised Mexico would pay for.”

Yeah honestly no performer should be expected to perform with someone who’s HIV positive. It’s not having an HIV positive cook, they are having sex and often without even a condom. I could see having HIV positive performers be in their own group or doing solo work

My uncle who was gay passed from AIDS. I really don’t think preventing HIV positive porn actors from participating in porn is homophobic or exclusive. Granted the science is supposedly saying undetectable means untransmissible...I just don’t find this movement sensible, empowering or responsible at all.

I see both sides as valid- I don’t want people to not get tested, and I want the stigma to go away. But it is pretty horrible to not tell a partner.

All those laws do is disincentivize people from getting tested, knowing their status and getting on treatment.

This is only a small tidbit in this long and interesting article, but why shouldn’t failure to disclose HIV status be a felony? I feel like that’s an incredibly fucked up thing to do to someone.

This is one area, as a gen-x’er, where no amount of science will ever overcome my terror. I’ll never knowingly sleep with someone with HIV, not if they’re on the top-quality medication and I’m using a condom and on PrEP. It’s the realest boogieman of our generation.
