Some insight from a local - He lost Texas because he had to build an infrastructure in a state where Democrats previously had none outside of metro enclaves.

I just wish he’d run in the Senate!

Seconded, so seconded. He’d make a spectacular Lone Star State Senator — representing everything cool and fun and modern about Texas. The problem for me about Beto is that he seems like a kind of a Zelig in terms of his political beliefs.

Beto won’t cut it. He’s not progressive enough to compete with Bernie/Warren and not conservative enough to compete with the other centrists.   He should run for senate, though.   He needs that stage in order to cement his capabilities and sell himself to the people for a presidential bid.

he has been so quiet the last 2 months that I am curious if he does indeed announce how much of a polling bump he would get , or if that November post election euphoria was a blip. Kamala Harris got a decent bump in the polls after announcing so it’s possible

I agree. I think he would be much more affective in the Senate or at some other executive level (governor perhaps?). At this point, this seems like an odd choice. But we’ll see what happens.

Ok, now it's an official clown car.

The closer you look at Beto the lamer he gets.  Terrible decision to run now.   If he won a Senate seat and proved himself with some quality votes and ideas people would be excited for him in 4 or 8 years.    Now he is likely to find himself on the pile of never was.

I wish we had campaigns like this 20 years ago when I had my son. I was a young mom who was ashamed of my body and its stretch marks. I hid in matronly bathing suits and bermuda shorts no matter how thin I was because I thought no one wanted to see my mom body. I have more body confidence at 40 than I ever had at 25.

It isn’t.

Agreed. I don’t see how this kind of self examination and self improvement is different than narcissism.

hate to tell you, but he should worry. My sister had a patient come in with, I think it was a stroke or some heart problem (I can’t remember so this story is terrible), perfectly healthy 32 year old. The only thing the doctor could think cause it was the Keto diet that he had been doing.

My younger brother has recently gotten into this kind of extremely restrictive dieting. He follows that keto diet 90% of the time, with intermittent fasting. On holidays or for family gatherings, he’ll have a “cheat day.” But other than that, it’s all keto all the time. My family and I have tried to stress how

They messed up by not naming it Sylnt. Vowels are sooo analog.

If you really think that “self-examination leads to self-improvement,” then you’re better off examining why big tech companies collude to drive down wages (Apple and Google), abuse the visa process (Facebook and everyone else), contract with companies in China who commit egregious human rights violations to build your

Only a really rich person would voluntarily not eat for hours and then talk about how much time they have without framing it around meals. #bye

Neutral Soylent is neutral people!”

22 hours without any food? I would want to punch someone, but not have the energy. Even in my eating disorder days I spread my few calories out throughout the day.

1. Purchase bulk quantities of neutral soylent and Trader Joe’s tub o’ greens

Going to go eat breakfast before work so that time doesn’t slow down and make my day feel even longer than it already is. Thank for the hot tip, digital bros.
