I’ve been with IHG Rewards for a while now and have always found it to be reasonably generous when it comes to collecting points for free stays or points-and-cash stays.

Something I’ve been wondering about. My Nexus 4 is eligible for an update to Lollipop but I’m pretty happy with Kitkat up until now and have decided to hold off for now. As far as the exceptions go, would you be ineligible for compensation if you refused the offer of an alternate flight? I was bumped from a British Airways booking years ago and reluctantly accepted boarding an Air Canada flight, but later wondered if I could have refused their offer.

Really interesting overview of Cortana. I’m not that excited about using it, but considering the wide range of things it can do I’d be surprised if it didn’t creep into daily usage little by little.

Anything similar you’d recommend on Android?

On the whole I’m pretty enthusiastic about upgrading (mostly from Windows 7) to 10, but I’ve heard that there’s little improvment in how QHD resolutions are handled. This has become something of a bugbear on a new Yoga 2 Pro and I was hoping an OS upgrade might address it.

As you say, it probably depends a lot upon how much shopping you do at Amazon. Other than groceries and clothes, I get almost everything there and Prime delivery in the UK means that most stuff arrives the next day.
