I’ve found this can work really well. Rather than avoid going home, I’ll try to make sure I get stuck into a project I’m working on more or less as soon as I get home. This usually helps me to build up the energy and momentum to make my evening as productive as possible.

Pilots are also very common practice with academic research projects. They’re a great way to trial a protocol or methodology without going all in.
