Ah, happy Seinfeld memories:) Kramer and Newman and a game of risk, right?

Oh dear, that's a lot of paranoia for one post;) Sorry I made it look that way, but I just really enjoy the Guardian and have done for years.
I can't underline your warning strongly enough. ESOL teaching can be a fantastic way to earn a good income while travelling the world and enhancing your skill-set, but legion are the cases of people whose whole experience has been soured by unprofessional and incompetent companies/recruitment agencies.
This is a great example to mention. Private tutoring can be one of the most lucrative ways of cutting a path through the world of ESOL teaching. It's a very accessible way to supplement other income streams while you're overseas (whether your main gig is teaching or not).
Certainly the widest opportunities are available to those who have qualifications in the field, but if you look around there's a number of regions in the world where you'll find many posts available to native speakers of English with less conventional CVs.
Have really started getting into white-noise webapps over the last few months. I've settled on Noisli which has one of the best selections of tracks and seems to run the smoothest.
A very different type of work, but English-language teaching can be a really versatile way of getting paid to see parts of the world that you otherwise might not. A lot of gigs include accommodation or offer it at a subsidised rate and if you're lucky the pay ain't too bad.
Wahl do really good stuff. Good build quality and solid feel at a decent price.

Just recently I've started to network a lot more aggressively for personal development purposes and remembering people and their life stories can be an important element of this.
So true. I love having this mindset. I get to go on holiday fifty times a year:)
That sound really exciting:) I guess what made you distinctive in the marketplace was the hybridisation of those two areas. Is this something that your first clients picked up on immediately or did you still need to labour away a little at getting people interested?
Unrelated, but the Guardian's a great paper, one of the best online, and definitely worth having a look at. I wouldn't expect much in the way of tech tips from it, but otherwise there's terrific coverage of current affairs and the arts and all their content is available for free (for now).
Thanks for the input:)
For you what gives Chromecast the edge over Roku?
Do tell...:)
I think this is really important. There needs to be a spirit of flexibility and improvisation when it comes to trying to ju-jitsu a new habit into your life. Often the biggest challenge is in finding the particular alchemy that makes a habit work for your life.
Yeah, that's fair enough. I really like Dropbox but they ain't cheap. There's been contests and promotions in the past for free space but none too recently and you'd struggle to get up to as much as 50 GB.
OK, appreciate it. I'll have a rummage around and see what I find. Would certainly be good to know for future travel.
I try not to let it get under my skin 'cos there's such a lot of good stuff and opportunity on the internet, but it's irritating to see open spaces polluted by whiners struggling with their inner demons.
Superb post Patrick:) Thanks a lot for this.
