Mad Men is the only one still airing. Not sure what your point is. Also, "advancing the plot" means different things to different people. Just because you didn't understand the finale (and it's clear that you, and many others, didn't) doesn't mean it was dull or boring or stupid. It was different and certainly unexpected, but its clumsy efforts to show the characters as still being human doesn't make it a bad episode.
