Also, you owe Brent a something nice. Had you slept on it that night you would have likely been in a much more dire situation.

When I saw the post where you're hand was so enlarged and they had sent you home with only oral antibiotics, I knew we were going to be seeing more about this.

Ha ha, I thought the bulb was the priest too. Turns out it's the counterweight. You dangle the fish on one while holding onto the strap, and however far up the blade you go indicates the weight!

have the same one. This new Petzl one could be pretty crazy.

Ugh, you can't be serious. Look at the market before you speak. Even 4 cell cr123 powered handheld lights are doing 800 lumens for like 5-1o mins before kicking back to 120-150 lumens. A wide release 700 lumen headlamp, even if it only runs @700 lumens for 5 mins, is a thing.

OMG how did I miss this challenge.

Right on. Anybody can take some 3/4 flat sawn oak, screw some trucks on it and call it a skateboard. This reminds me a lot of the "Best Made" post a month or two back. Hipster 'made' stuff for hipsters, and a quirky short film that tries to make being trendy look like some sort of achievement in breaking societal

Thank you.

The FFL you have to pick it up from is the one responsible for making sure you're in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.

The internet makes *everything* easier to find and buy.

I'm gonna make one next summer. Probably to longer specs, cause that calf bar looks uncomfortable (and I will use a standard length stand). This will actually be easier for me than weaving a rope hammock.

except in such a small grill there isn't enough room to have the amount of fuel that creates the positive feedback loop that makes for the high, (relative to larger units) prolonged temps that make for good grilling. Digging a ported 12" hole in the ground is free and take about as much time as this grill does to set

Except it's slow. A slow lens prooooobably isn't going to get great reviews. Not exactly a lot of room for stopping it down, not going to be a low light performer. Not to mention the fact you can get a cheap mirror lens from whoever that is similar in spec and price.

They labeled it EOS and made an adapter for EF/EF-S. Mirrorless still has a long way to go, but I think this is pretty solid evidence that days of mirrors are waning at ever increasing speeds. I'd wager the 1Dx doesn't see a mirrored successor.

Sushi joints should never be poorly lit. A good sushi ambiance is of showing pride in the product and skill. As such, dim lighting is not a good sign at all.

There is some small bit of irony in that the guy's name is Bott.

Like your boss took your winning lottery ticket, rolled a spliff with it, blew the smoke in your face, and then jumped out the window of the 40th floor.

This video is either sad, or tragic. It's sad if it's a self-aware attempt at internet fame by playing the role of a troubled kid. It's tragic if it actually is a troubled kid singing about feeling the need to self medicate his way through his lonely world.

It should be noted that if your knife isn't very, very dull there is no reason to start on the course side. A Norton Fine India stone provides a perfectly acceptable "working" edge, and it is cheap and quick.

I don't really shoot too much video. I use a lot of spot AF or manual for macro. I need the weather sealing of the 7D. So I don't feel *too* bad. But Digic 5 sounds cool, and as much as I don't use video, video AF on an entry body sounds awesome.
