My fiance works as a disability claims adjudicator. They look for basically any work that you can do before granting disability claims. He’s had clients with literally hundreds of pages of medical information from multiple doctors that still get turned down because there’s some job they could do.

Did that teaching take into account the preferences of the students themselves? I understand setting a default but there are people that prefer “disabled person” and it’s important not to assume what language they prefer.

Citing lack of supply isn’t really an excuse though when there would almost certainly be more disabled actors if there were more roles available.

It’s not just on planes! I was in the grocery store and thought they had some really weird Muzak but it was someone playing music on their phone so loudly I could hear it at the other end of the aisle.

See, guns don’t kill people: people kill people. People are the real problem. That’s why we need to eliminate as many people as possible, using guns. That will solve the problem.

I think it’s based on this Squirtle just with different eye color.

It’s... fine. It tastes a bit like vanilla Slimfast and if you mix it yourself instead of buying it premixed from the producer it’s gritty. But it’s not terribly gross, at least in my opinion. I really don’t see the appeal of an entirely Soylent diet though.

This image strikes me as belonging in on of those “10 Most Influential Photos” listicles.

Hey I totally understand feeling helpless in the face of structural racism. I feel that way too. But when someone gives you concrete things you can do to help (like fortheloveofbeets did above) do you see how it isn’t helpful to reply with more focus on your feelings? It’s definitely not cool to dump your feelings

No but it is going to get people to associate that feeling of disgust with the idea of the medical procedure, thereby making them more susceptible to arguments against it.

I have no legal background but I know contracts can include non-disparagement clauses which could include language about not disparaging the company or its board members. If Kelly came forward supporting Carlson then whether or not Kelly had violated her contract would come down to the success of Carlson’s suit.

I’m not sure how I can make this more clear to you: I do not regard Leadsom as a hero, feminist or otherwise. I am not holding her up as some paragon of feminist virtue simply because she’s a woman. I’m not saying we should overlook her politics simply because she is a woman. All I am saying is that these women are in
