Does anyone know if it's possible to install just the update to iTunes without having to download the full installer again? As much as commonly available broadband has made 100MB downloads a minor inconvenience (as opposed to a major PITA), it's still painful to see a minor change require a full software reinstall.

@Talthybius: I happen to have just one, but I'm migrating from a hotmail account (Has anyone else noticed the amount of spam passing the filters in Hotmail for the past couple weeks / months has been increasing?)

@archd3: I'd like to second the question - with an iPhone and/or iTouch, if you reboot the iDevice, is the iThing unlocked or do you need to rerun blackra1n to get it to iWork?

I have yet to hear anything about failure. 4 x 1TB drives in a RAID-5 are fantastic.... until one fails and you have to rebuild.

The trick for clicking on a link like this is to NOT freak out and panic. How many people are going to needlessly get all worked up over this?

@SupaChiney: @hotmail.com is the most common email address I see, still viewed as "cheap" email. @msn is even lesser, and @live.com is simply laughable. Nicer is @gmail.com, but is it more "respectable"? Would you put it on a resume?

@tombuch: I think he's mentioning the freezer as an example, saying that he thought about this 15 years into ownership of the freezer, instead of years ago.

@FamiCube64: If this was a true story, I'm... disturbed... now, if this was a "I think it's funny", you might have gone better with an Polk High reference, possibly to leave a job as a shoe-salesman (And for those of you who never watched it, are overseas or are younger: Reference to a TV show, called "Married With

Huh. Functional, not something I'd do, but IS functional... time and place for everything, remember that.

@chainsawchef: Exactly how many emergencies would one encounter in life requiring the cooking of broiled chicken in a coffee maker???

@TuxRug: You just brought up the number one reason why I couldn't get into techno / trance / dance music: No words, or worse, the same words only remixed....

@fhall1: Sometimes it's not necessarily about the time and effort, but about the principle of the thing - I do the same with hair gel (I don't buy it often, don't use it a lot, but I'll be damned if I leave 2 weeks worth in a bottle that's "empty").

@portezbie: Both do bookmarks and passwords, this does history, customization, preferences.

@Summermodoin'_GitEmSteveDave: How'd it do? My guppies are gettin a little big, and I think I'm going to look for small hooks, even if I have to grind the barbs off myself.... ?

@atomicrabbit: There are other sites which have Canadian deals, notably [redflagdeals.ca] - and yeah, most of the RFD deals are sponsored, but sometimes they work out well... still.. I'd be happy with some of these US only deals up here.

I never understood the "Cook one serving of pasta" mentality - if using in a dish, sure, would make sense, but if you're eating just pasta (with whatever sauce), would it not be a better idea to make more and have lunches?

For the past 22 years, people have been struggling to read my printing or (heaven forbid), handwriting. 15 years ago, back in high school, I was forbidden from writing anything by one of my teachers. I would be sent to the library to type things out instead if a computer wasn't available in class.

@FrisbeeNaked: You read with your ears? That's amazing! or else you text-to-speech the webpage, which is also cool... yet probably painful when your computer starts speaking popups - "ALL NATURAL P-THREE-N-ONE-S THREE-N-L-FOUR-R-G-THREE-M-E-N-T-S"

@ViniTheHat: Stop being a big nerd? I missed that LH article.
