This game is such a tremendous disappointment. You think by now we’d at least have a tell-all book or two, the game is into its third presidential administration.

Star Citizen is like right behind the Trump Election Defense Fund in terms of hilariously obvious scams
It came out in the before times, back when time made sense and had meaning.
Not surprising, 343 has been destroying Halo to make it’s games for years.
Please let this catch on elsewhere. I still can’t comprehend that GTAV (and kinda Skyrim) is a three console generation game because they pretty much just went, “Why develop a whole new game every few years when Online will just keep us rolling in money forever?”
I consider this course-correcting, not damage control.
I think the line of thinking was “games as a service make more than ambitious single-player games.” The big mistake was forcing devs that specialized in (still very profitable) single-player experiences to make service games instead of, like, people who are good at making service games.
I have a feeling it is more of lesson learned - a very expensive less learned. None of their fanbase wanted a live service game. none really want MP beyond something tack on like Mass Effect had that can be completely ignored.
Sure, and damage control, in this instance isn’t necessarily bad, right? “We messed up, here is what you want.” seems like an okay sentiment?
They are stating this to do some sort of damage control. “SEE?! You wanted single player? Here! We are ALLOWING (their words.) Dragon Age to be Single Player! Don’t you love us?!”
Uh, I mean Anthem is following directly in the footsteps of Diablo 3 and Destiny, which both launched in pretty sorry states and eventually expansioned themselves into success. (D3/Destiny haters, please save your breath, I promise I do not care)
It wasn’t as bad as all this, but Diablo 3 definitely had a turnaround after some serious backlash about the initial game that launched.
The Divison. Some would say Fallout 76, though I would not.
Hopefully actually replaying D2 will...de-rose peoples glasses? It’s an excellent game but I sat through years of “DiAblO 3 sUx cUz iT’S nOt dIAblo 2!”
No shit. That’s why it was called “Diablo 3.”
Higher level play was a damn mess at launch but it eventually became excellent.
Nope, sorry, this is BAD casting.
I love Jack, no question about that, but this just smacks of the production not even remotely understanding the character they’re casting for.
Every ounce of Claptraps bravado is a front for a character that devastatingly sad and emotionally broken. People don’t love Claptrap because…
My experience in communities of MMOs that have shut down have taught me that a LOOOOOOOT of people seem to think simply having the game downloaded is all you need to recreate the game for personal use.
Adding to what the person down below said, having the source code available is going to make modding and editing the game ludicrously easy. As in, we’ll start seeing articles of “gamers are fixing Cyberpunk 2077 faster than CDPR can”, despite the actual truth of the matter, once modding teams start releasing their own…
Hard to take the “hackers” seriously when they write like that.
