I’m really finding it more and more difficult to be sympathetic. This is the world Trump voters wanted. He told them what he was going to do and they voted for him anyway. They just were too stupid to realize that it wasn’t just the poors and the blacks and the bad hombres who would be affected.

From what I’ve read, courts actually sided with repubs that these subsidy payments are unconstitutional, but the payments were allowed to continue while the Obama admin appealed the decision.

Unfortunately, these payments weren’t adequately described in the law. Obama made them through executive order, because there was no way to get the fix through congress. Trump is now just rescinding that order.

ACA is the law, and the president can’t unilaterally violate the law. This move shouldn’t stand up in court any more than his travel ban did.
