That’s the problem with Destiny in a nutshell. It thinks it’s an MMO, but it isn’t.

All of this just adds fuel to my theory that Activision is setting expectations too high and perhaps purposefully hamstringing Bungie, with the end goal being to either put them in such a state where they’d be willing to sell either the studio or the IP to Activision.
I don’t think they’ll sell the studio and know…
Probably has something to do with the fact that they turned a $60 game into a $140 one with 3 expansions. Who fuckin thought that would work again?
“And so castles made of sand return to sea eventually”
It’s precisely what they don’t want. They want the symbol to be associated with emergencies, not everyday medical connotations. It also pertains to their work (they’re literally called the Red Cross), and having anyone use it could be harmful.
“Fuck off Red Cross”
The Red Cross operates in really unstable areas, including war zones. I think making sure who uses their symbol and why remaining unambiguous and apolitical as possible is justified in this case.
Well that’s a disturbing set of priorities. But hey, a minor inconveniencein a video game because an international relief organization wants to keep the symbol they’ve been using since 1863 free of commercial entanglements is totally reasonable. I’m sure those volunteers getting blown up and killed in various warzones…
Whaaaaaa I won’t support a foundation that helps thousands of people in times of crisis every week because my video game health packs look different....
Under normal trademark law, certainly. But since the Geneva Convention has been mentioned, I’m thinking there are considerations above and beyond normal national trademark laws here. If it’s a matter of international treaty, all bets are of when it comes to mark genericization.
“Look, it’s not our fault if the consumer choose not to apply the whole sticker. We clearly provided one with little extra boxes in the corner!”
Well, that’s actually a red cross with a *black outline* which technically means it’s a different symbol altogether.
I feel like I’ve seen lots of green crosses to denote health. This must be why.
Just get a PC with an Xbox One controller.
That’s a far cry from not allowing new textures. That defeats the purpose of the majority of mods.
The longer this generation goes on the more I wonder if I should have just stuck with Xbox. The PS2 was a magnificent machine, but the PS3 was cumbersome and the PS4 seems to have won by simply being less ambitious. Sony is a hard company to support. Microsoft’s Xbox division acts like they actually care.
Right so the main selling point of mods has been removed then.
Show a beta that looks immensely better and different than the final product, sell them on beautiful awe-inspiring visuals, and lead them to believe that’s actual gameplay in beta and by proxy it will only look better in final because alpha/beta usually are unfinished and without polish...then after release tell them…
From what I’ve seen, a lot of the outrage stems from just the last several months of press. People are generally understanding that statements from 2014 and 2015 may change, and are ok with that. A lot of the stuff that isn’t in the game, however, was still being talked about 4 months ago, right around when they…
