There is no sexism against men.

So frustrating to be labeled anti-feminist by white feminists who don’t understand intersectionalism. Fuck, as if WOC aren’t alienated enough.

What does this have to do with my reply? You said that Hillary will fight for womens issues the hardest, I disagree. I think that feminists still don’t understand the REAL issues the rest of us non white women face and how it mainly stems from being economically disadvantaged.

i would argue that the question “which women” is pretty significant here. perhaps they have done that to a large degree domestically speaking (though even that is worth some examination), but i am sure women in countries torn apart by wars, sanctions, and political instability that both clinton and albright supported

BUT ECONOMIC ISSUES ARE WOMENS ISSUES!!!!! LOW INCOME WOMEN AND NON WHITE WOMEN COUNT TOO YOU KNOW!!!!!!

not quite. income inequality, student debt, police brutality, racism, war, limited or no access to health care, and an overprioritization of corporate interests over human ones *ARE* women’s issues. it’s not that one of the aforementioned items are somehow separate, particularly as they often manifest more intensely

Those “larger” issues are women’s issues too. It’s just that more and more feminists have become frustrated with the narrow application of “women’s issues” to wealthy, white, American women.

Yeah like economic issues that are life and death for us woc, you know, the ones these feminists never considered.

What I love is that this genius pro-gun person has decided that a GRADUATE STUDENT who was shot in a parking lot must have been a gang member and the community must take personal responsibility for that. GTFOH. Your pseudo-racist bullshit is always out after every shooting. Doesn’t matter who the victim is, if it’s a

Oops! I was cleaning my keyboard, and my trigger finger accidentally hit the dismiss button. /shrug. So a few innocent bystander comments died. Collateral damage, I guess. Whaddya gonna do?

It’s not unreasonable to expect some kind of cohesion and baseline set of standards. It’s not a matter of expecting all writers to share the same vision of what feminism is, the same viewpoints, or the same style, but if you come together as a unified site, one which does want to express important views and opinions

and owns up to the fact that it needs to take as good as it gives.

I’d agree with you, actually I do agree with you. The feminist echo chamber is the worst trap of all, and it makes frequenting a lot of feminist sites unbearable. And I can’t stand the permanently offended. But if only they’d own the fuck ups. Instead, you get writers who just get defensive and insult people in the

Her response to the maxi-dress criticism was when I lost respect for her. I thought the piece was poorly written and kind of annoying, but I wasn’t angered by it. However, she proceeded to mock people who where sharing pretty personal stories. And then, as you said, basically asked why we can’t respond like men. I

“And I think tacking all this on being “offended” is a smokescreen for not wanting to do the hard work of being intersectional and listening to voices with less privilege and more marginalization.”

And the people who sat at lunch counters were attacked. They stopped “proper white customers” from taking those seats, and they were called disruptive and terrible as well. The reaction of the police state to the disruption of their unjust “rules” is necessary.

How white of you.

Uh, no. I was at the protest last year. My partner works at the mall and witnessed the protest today. Neither were “a punch away from utter chaos.” You have no idea what you are talking about.

I don’t think you or Jia or anyone else who likes this article is arguing for anything in the sense of ulterior motives, like “being against intersectionality” or whatever. This isn’t about #notallwhitewomen. This is about criticizing the egregious lack of self-awareness and hypocrisy that is a fundamental part of

I see this as quite clearly meant to rile up the “easily offended” bunch and a) prove your point and b) get massive clicks (and let’s be honest b will always outweigh a here).
