I use a T300RS. I did get the sense that the FFB was contributing somehow to the issue, but for me it wasn’t like you describe. For me it was a total lack of any hint that things were going awry. No FFB or noise indicator that the rear tires were starting to float - they just start floating in a very subtle way that

All that trouble you’re having handling the cars.. I think that’s an actual problem with the game. It’s the main thing preventing me from enjoying the game at this point. It should not be a challenge to keep a stock GR86 on the road for one lap of Tsukuba with all aids off, it should be a hoot. But I can not have fun

Dude, thanks for posting this. Count me in the “this game’s economy is fricken broken” camp. I hope that 911 GT1 is worth my time.

Also WRX STI, Civic Type R. I guess times really are a-changing.

That was 90 for New York district over a certain period of time, about same volume as GR86 for reference. Still will be a nightmare to get one.

I considered but never tried blocking to help get the thing to warm up faster. I don’t recall anyone on forums trying it as a fix for the hydrolock issue. Most people seemed to focus on regular draining (didn’t help me at all, never accumulated more than a few drops in IC) or just shutting off the LPEGR with a tune

Did this person recently awake from a years-long coma, maybe? No idea what’s going on? I’m curious whether you’ve had any problems with hydro-lock on either car.

Agree, it’s really just pushing the limits of trail braking he’s talking about. As others mention, the AI is finding the limits of what works in Gran Turismo physics, which has oh-so-many quirks. The techniques won’t necessarily carry over to other games, let alone reality.

This is cool, but I have trouble imagining how they will incorporate this AI into the single player campaign without hopelessly neutering it. It will probably just let you catch it, pass, and then hang onto your butt to punish you if you make a mistake - no different than the current rubber-band approach. Let’s hope

Except when it comes to racing games, even the best AI generally has to take liberties to beat the best humans - essentially cheat. Special physics rules it gets to follow, rubber-band effects etc.

Awesome article, too bad it’s basically impossible to read on mobile.

Whew, thank goodness. I had to break out my work computer in the middle of a public place to see what was going on here, since GMG sites (particularly long-ish articles, or any time I attempt to read more than just the first comment) are an absolute fucking self-destruct mechanism to mobile devices.

Oh yeah, there is the Integra. Will probably only be $5000-$10000 markups on that.

Just gotta pony up the extra $15000 $40000 (after markups) for the Type R ಠ_ಠ

Agree, looks ok. I guess all of the hideous stuff out there these days has desensitized me?

WRX is one of very few inhabitants of a niche on an ever shrinking island (cars.) So when the disease responsible for the population crash on that island begins to manifest on the leader of the niche, you have to worry.

I’ve ridden along with engineers on several cross country journeys on North American railroads, and for sure it’s a lot. It’s an endurance occupation. I’ll tell you what though, it’s living the dream compared to some.. we’ll just say “third world” countries. All on one very bumpy 1000km trip: 2 dead dogs and 3 near

Ohhhhh, you haven’t heard about Subaru? They’re stupidly, stubbornly opposed to integrating a manual with Eyesight in any way, because it can’t be done without making some small compromise. They’ll cry about “not enough manuals sold to warrant development” but at the same time, it will 100% be the demise of manuals in

Let’s hope you’re all wrong.
