Yea I agree with you. Aside from those first few quarters where it’s a total frenzy to get a hold of them, they’ll taper down to sales that are good for that type of car. Which look bad by most other segments’ standards.

I’m not too sure about the new Supra selling well. It will sell at a trickle, like all other sports cars these days besides the Mustang. I think it’ll hold its value and stay a bit exclusive in that regard, with only the 4-cylinder models dropping down to become accessible by your $30-$40k sports cross-shoppers after

Thisssssssssssssss

Of course for $65k there are all sorts of more radical things you can do. This is why I used the Lexus as a comparison. And why Toyota is targeting P-car buyers. They’d be hard pressed to convince the average Corvette or Mustang guy regardless of how close they came on bang for buck.

Complaining about a Toyota getting BMW interior seems odd to me.

Needs more Symphony of the Night

Agree, it’s nice but not that nice.  I can see doing $8k tops for this one.

I don’t know about living up to all of the hype, but I’m pretty sure this is going to be the $60,000 version of the 86. “Well I’m sure it’s a lot of fun to drive, but for $60,000 I could have 1.5 Ford Mustangs that are just as fast, etc. etc.

In both of my kids’ top 3 favorite books list, for sure. Worn to hell, probably should buy a second copy soon. It’s not as beat up as the dreaded Apex book, though.

Before 1996 (12 yrs old) I knew there were cool cars out there but I didn’t really care. Some time in 1996, I saw the Top Gear where Tiff Needell reviews the McLaren F1 on TV. I was then interested in cars. But it was Gran Turismo in 1998 that really changed everything. It showed me why fast cars even mattered to

The best COTD ever.

So we know where in OK to find six nervous black folks right now.

Eh, both can get old. I’ve lived with high-revving response, have been driving turbo for a long time now. I prefer responsive, noisy (good noise) high-revving to sledgehammer torque. It’s not one is better than the other to me, it’s preference. So the right way to do it is to offer both!

I’m super happy about all of this as well, but the engine, damn. I suppose it’ll be an EcoBoost. I’d rather him have gone electric than some buzzy 3-cylinder. I’m sure he’ll go there soon, for the betterment of us all.

Of the myriad reasons why it’s so rare to see black people participating in the types of extreme sports featured in the X Games and occuring on jagged mountain tops, in furious creeks, and on Steve Bannon’s face, the most telling is simply that existing while black is already an extreme sport.

The Corvette as we know it will only go away if Chevy is stupid. Even if they manage to push this MR sports car to market at a similar price point to the ‘vette (doubtful) I see no good reason why it must replace it all together.

They need to bring back the Corsica name, and now is the time to do it. This is a perfect successor.

I call it The Wall of Masculinity. It looks ridiculous. I believe it is typical of GM trying to follow Fords’ lead. Starting in 2009, the F150 had what I called a “wall” look to the front and rear. It took GM a while to finally BUILD THAT WALL, but they did it, and dialed it to 11. I have it on good authority that

This. Only GM could make such a dumbass move as to make a mid-engine supercar and call it a Corvette. I mean if they’re too broke to make a Corvette and a mid-engine supercar, and they’re picking one which will have to carry the Corvette torch, and it’s the mid-engine one, then they deserve what’s coming.

I LOVED the base model 18" wheels. HATE the wheels we see here.
