These guys got a little 2 fast and 2 furious with the neons all over the cars! I’m sure they’re part of the rules or something, but it’s funny.

Will you buy one of these over a traditional minivan? I’ll take a look, but don’t think we could wing that.

This car is astonishingly ugly. Can’t believe it will go to production like this. It figures, THAT is the type-R we get.

Agree, I’d never buy DSG but suspect it could cut a few seconds from a professional ‘ring lap. Consider that they’re making a deal out of 2 and it’s kinda odd.

Great, another $40-$50k wagon that nobody will ever buy over an SUV of similar trim and probably lower cost.

Can the sedan segment be saved?

I would peg the risk of failure for TGT at “very low.”

Hopefully details on its conceptual powertrain will also be a clue to the next STI powerplant.

Now playing

My favorite, really gets me yearning to be a mid-90's yuppie.

JESUS. I’d go with the magic title, but I’d probably only use it a few times.

This was a lot better than I expected! The only problem I have with it was that he didn’t mention avoiding idling - this is the same as “avoid cruise control” for the same reasons, but it’s not obvious to people all the time.

Honestly a little part of me always thought it was mostly pure chemistry magic, but this makes more sense and is more impressive. I think I respect Clarkson a bit more considering.

Awesome

you know...the way it’s supposed to work in a civil society.

Holy hell. I wonder how this guy would stack up if he ran in a Rally America (or whatever it is now) event?

I don’t have much love for MB, but their wagonry earns them my respect whether the stuff makes it to our shores or not.

Boy did I EVER know a guy like this. Below are just a couple of the legendary car-related zingers from him off the top of my head. You could be talking about mozzarella sticks and this guy would come up with a fantastical story about his renowned cheese snacks that won the most coveted award that Italy can to bestow

MAKES TOO MUCH SENSE, WONT HAPPEN. Last generation Cruze had a legit wagon, too.

I bought a 2010 TDI new in May 2010 and owned it until I traded it in April 2014. Does it make sense for me to go in and do any of this? Am I entitled to any restitution as a former owner?

That really is a great car. My wife and I still call it the “it” to this day. It totally snuck up on us when it hit the market. I saw one driving down the road and was like WTF IS THAT! It took a while before I saw any of these mystery cars close enough to read the badge, and I was impressed.
