I read the Holtzclaw piece earlier this week and thought I'd reached the bottom of the well of dumb shit on the Internet for February. Nope.

This case simply reaffirms the idea that we need a well-performing criminal justice system, where judges, juries and attorneys on both sides of the aisle work together to mete out justice on a case by case basis.

The article suggests there is an abundance of evidence, which is why I made my original sarcastic comment.

Saying her tone is off is not exactly vilifying her. If I were her husband and we’d been able to work through this thing together (again, good for them), I would probably not love reading how my wife chose to start her comment off with “cheating saved my marriage,” later adding “stay married or stay mad” and…

I make no claims about what she does, or does not deserve. As I said, I’m glad she and her husband have found a way to move forward. Perhaps she consider her tone when speaking of her betrayal in the future, as it makes her sound like a jerk.

If you cheat on your partner for a year and subsequently get caught, you shouldn’t really expect the spouse you betrayed to make you feel secure in the relationship. That’s the point.
