the camerawork was indeed impeccable (that top-down shot of Madison running through her house was superlative) and the dialogue was indeed absolutely atrocious (Sidney’s line about foetuses may genuinely be one of the worst ever written or performed)

This movie is just wonderfully ridiculous. The script is just full of WTF, but in a good way. This is the kind of movie where you’re missing the point if you pick apart such high-minded conceits as “plot” or “dialogue” or “acting”. Wan remains a technical whiz. Quite a few exciting, mind-blowing, great looking shots

Sounds like not enough people watched Becoming a God in Central Florida.

From what I’ve seen of the American cinema-going experience through the media and the internet, it really seems like the movie theaters on average are subpar compared to those in third world countries like mine. Our theaters are nice, the sound system always great, the seat models and arrangement make it so you don’t

Apple won the court case, this is just a badly written article.

Everything considered, Apple WON. 9 out of 10 counts.

You didn’t mention that Apple won every single other count besides this one.

The simple answer is that, dramatically, the cliche outcome would be a squeaker loss. Having them go out and just get worked seemed to me to be a bit more realistic and more welcome, but YMMV.

The podcast The Dream gets into this a bit, and into the overlap between prosperity gospel and MLM schemes. It’s a great listen, at least the first season about MLMs. The second about the “wellness” industry didn’t grab me as much.

I had a scary thought that Tartt Sr. and his crew were going to jump him. They’re exactly the hooligans to try something like that, especially after Beard tossed him out. Whenever a character “goes off on their own” like that, gah, I get a bad feeling. This description makes me feel better, though. I love Coach Beard.

I mean given how Man City has played under Pep Guardiola that scoreline is 100% true to life.

apparently canonically morpheus died in ‘the matrix online’ videogame, a game that you can’t even play anymore!

Krapopolis is that series—one that was “curated entirely on the Blockchain,”

It’s Greek AND there’s a character with a large beard but said character isn’t voiced by Jason Mantzoukas? Real missed opportunity.

Hate to be that guy, but not ashamed to be that New Yorker, but Penn Station is the place where NJ trains depart from. I get they wanted a cooler location for the fight but Grand Central is just the wrong place.

Yeah I’m gonna say that this episode was a significant improvement over Marvel Zombies, which was basically just early-2000's edgelord BS...

They were too busy getting Critical Rape Theory removed from all the textbooks.

You mean the men in power could have eliminated rape all this time and they're just now getting started on it?

Drake has enough time and money that he could have left the track off the album and done something else entirely. He chose to leave it there because he didn't think it was that big of a deal to associate himself with R. Kelly.
