I think many would argue nothing good comes out of the public taking an interest in an affair but hey it’s not like the last time a jilted ex wrote out a tome against their famous partner it launched gamergate.

Look, lying about cheating is not gaslighting. It’s crappy behaviour, but if “gaslighting” is that mundane it’s a useless term.

This is not abuse. Taking a womans money from her, controlling when she goes out, who she sees, and telling her that she is worthless is emotional abuse. Admitting to your wife you cheated because he couldn’t help himself is not abuse.

Also women cheat. It has nothing to do with equality. You can also be a feminist and date a (male or female) model. Like what does that have to do with anything?

Because it totally matters what a guy thinks the word feminist should sound like, i’m starting to think people shouldn’t label men feminists.

Look, this whole thing is really disappointing and Whedon has definitely lost his “goody two shoes” lustre now, but abuse? Is cheating now the same as domestic violence? People seem to be reacting like this is some Cosby/Polanski level transgression when what he really is is a shitty husband.

Well, if you can’t be a feminist and a cheater, then there are no (or very very few) feminists of any gender. Studies have shown again and again that the vast majority of monogamous relationships have cheating at one point or another.

Seemed like there were a lot of people commenting who had cheated themselves and wanted to defend their credentials.

I’m having trouble understanding why being a philanderer means someone can’t be a feminist. Until a woman he pressured into sex comes forward with her story, I can’t help but think this is stone-cold vengeance from Whedon’s ex - especially since he was the one who walked out on the marriage.
