Sure they are. And I would never use the term myself. But this is the whle point: the options aren’t GamerGate or Matt McGorry. The options aren’t either being vile racists or actively soliciting gold stars for your virtuousness.
I agree. I’m just saying this “cram Trump into every political narrative” tic risks leaving us underestimating the extent of our problems.
We have a dragon slaying problem in American politics: our system is set up to convince us that the work stops after an election, which sucks attention and energy away from solving practical problems once the election is over. Everybody is so exhausted by that point, it’s hard to summon the will to create change.
I think part of the problem is that performative outrage like this makes people cynical about the broader campaign to make the world a more just and equitable place.
a powerful man is allowed to run for the highest public office on the ideals of the enemies you face in this game
Data - you are the bird....
I really hate to say this, but as someone who has played this series incessantly since the very first one, I just don’t enjoy it very much anymore. All the fun is packed into the first 150 turns; there’s too much grinding from guiding city production and workers (which you can automate, but too poorly to be worth…
I like coming here to see all of these die-hard video game fans shit on every video game and console they see.

Why are liberals trying to restart Cold War animus again? Why? What is the strategy here? Why do so many of you sound like mid-80s Ronald Reagan, all of a sudden, because it’s politically convenient?
I got Gears of War 4 for PC. Was trying to play it with an Xbox controller. But I just can’t stomach aiming with a thumbstick. It’s too aggravating.
Yes yes, I know - there is nothing but Team Blue and Team Red, and Team Blue is good and pure. I get it.
Great to here.
Really wanted to like the original and I quite enjoyed hacking through zombies, but I always found the combination of open-world style and timed events really aggravating. In an open-world game I want to explore at my leisure, but you have to be in the right place at the right time in the original.
What is the evidence for the latter, exactly? Look Trump is a monster. And yes he’s stoking all kinds of terrible sentiment. But liberals have been harping on this “election observers” thing as some sort of completely nefarious phenomenon, and it just isn’t. It’s exactly the kind of narrative that gives fuel to…
This “controversy” was about the fact that Trump has election observers. Every campaign has election observers. Yes, Trump says lots of horrific stuff - which is why we don’t need to make stuff up to have reasons to reject him.
Again: please look at some more of the hundreds of comments on this article to find many examples of commenters - many of them men, by the way - who are going beyond just defending her and explicitly praising her record. If you’re not one of them, then I’m not telling you anything at all.
And my comment said that there are people here who are unambiguously praising her. Which means that if you aren’t, you’re not one of the people I was responding to!
