“Joe Biden is good” has gotta be one of the saddest contemporary liberal convictions. His treatment of Anita Hill was some of the most flagrantly misogynistic slut-shaming I can imagine. A brutal, sexist character assassination. And now liberal Democrats treat him like good ol’ uncle Joe.

I was never much of a Bernie Sanders guy.

I’m not a Trump supporter; I’m a socialist.

No, I’m not conflating them. I’m saying that both of them have, as pretty much all rich people do, gone out of their way to pay the lowest taxes possible, and I’m further saying that we should focus on eliminating those loopholes and raising tax rates both.

You realize that many of Hillary Clinton’s harshest critics are people like people of color like Michelle Alexander and Adolph Reed, right? Are you just incapable of giving a substantive response, other than “it’s racist to criticize Hillary Clinton for her record as a moderate conservative”?

When did I ever say I’d stop reading or commenting on blogs?

I’m left-wing. I want a left-wing party. The Democrats are a center-right party. You are entitled prefer center-right politics if you’d like. But the idea that it’s fundamentally crazy for me to want a legitimate left-wing alternative in American politics is strange to me.

Look, do your research; there are tons of ways in which the Clintons have paid artificially low taxes. The fact that she’s paid a lot only shows how absurdly wealthy she’s become, thanks to her speaking gigs for Goldman Sachs and the rest of the plutocrats in our country.

lol no she’s a notorious tax dodger:

She’s made a significant portion of that money directly serving the interests of our rentier class, and since different social classes are in inevitable and necessary conflict with each other, that’s a problem.

Someone with hundreds of millions of dollars endorsed a center-right candidate who has hundreds of millions of dollars herself?

No artist is ever obligated to give any fans what they think they want, and no fans are ever entitled to dictate to artists what they have to do in their art. Fanfic, discussion, fan art, just fantasizing about what you want to happen - great. Insisting that you have the right to dictate what happens with characters

Personally, as an MMA fan I have never loved these trilogies, with a few exceptions. Fighters just don’t have that many fights in them in their prime and I’d almost always rather see a new matchup than a rubber match. I know that’s not a very popular opinion though.

His campaign started rumors that John McCain fathered an illegitimate black child in order to discredit him and he was the president while Katrina drowned.

I would argue that’s also his weakness, though - he’s too susceptible to having his analysis be colored by his anger at the supporters of a given candidate. He and his compatriot Harry Enten completely lost their cool with Bernie Sanders supporters and it colored all of their coverage from then on. That’s not being

The thing is, all of this “it’s a forecast, not a prediction” only has value  if you say it before your forecasts fail. Like, when he was getting a full-on tongue bath from the media in 2012, he wasn’t making all of these caveats and provisos. And that’s when they really matter. It’s only after his incredibly

This shit is exactly what we’ve been telling conservatives we don’t do for years. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to argue with conservatives who think that the left wants to completely exclude conservatives from public life, telling them no, that’s a right-wing delusion. And yet here we are. Do people not

Right - everyone who gets a MacArthur, with very few exceptions, already has enough money to live on. It’s baffling.

I will never understand why people are so eager to give monetary rewards to artists and writers who already have demonstrated that they can support themselves financially. Why not give out $62,500 awards to 10 times as many people who don’t yet have firm financial footing, MacArthur?

One more time: putting the word censorship in scare quotes is not an argument. I know contemporary progressives find it difficult to actually argue about free expression, but you do actually have to come up with an argument, rather than dismissing the issue out of hand by using an empty dog whistle like scare quotes.
