My 5.oL Mustang engines have regularly gone over 7500 miles with minimal oil consumption. Even after 80,000 plus miles. Direct injection spray patterns along with piston/ring design need to be correct or this type of thing can happen.

They are not clamp-ons.
People aren’t necessarily distracted when walking. They often aren’t taught to look before walking into traffic. Even worse many people think that cars must instantly stop for them.
2nd gear: So, if we reduce the fuel economy target from 54.5 to 35 mpg it’s cheaper. It can also be done with light weight and current technology. That’s great. What if that same group looked at what it would actually take to hit the insane 54.5 mpg target?
This is a fine example of aliasing. Fun fact, it can happen in acoustics measurements as well.
The emissions standards are now driving fuel economy. You can’t have emissions go down much more without better fuel economy (physics).
The 120 plugs work fine if you are just parking at night and driving off in the morning. What they don’t tell you up front is that the 240v chargers are more efficient and cost a bit less to run.
Peak power consumption (Amps) is at zero RPM. Not peak torque.
I had a 2 liter ecoboost for over 150000 miles and never had to have any work done on the engine. Change oil and filters, drive, repeat.
