If anyone saw the film Spotlight, based on the Boston Globe’s investigation of the decades of abuse covered up by the Catholic fucking church, none of this should be a surprise. The absolute crushing blow is at the end of the film when they list the cities that have had priests charged with molestation and the list

Kill this fucking program. I don’t care if everyone currently involved with the football team went there after the fact. I don’t care if its unprecedented. They allowed children to be raped on their campus for decades and they all deserve to burn.

I remember when St. Joe said he wouldn’t retire because he didn’t want to leave college football to the Barry Switzer’s and Jackie Sherril’s of the world. I’m sure a lot of shit went on with both of those staffs but I’ll wager big bucks none of Jackie’s or Barry’s coaches were members of NAMBLA.

Look. I’m all for disbanding Penn State football but fuck the NCAA. They should have absolutely no role in this whatsoever. They have less than zero moral (or legal) authority. It’s on Penn State to do it. Or the schools in their schedule to refuse to play them. For everyone outside the Big 10 to refuse to schedule

I'm sure they can turn this media witch hunt into a nice little fundraiser.

Jesus fucking Christ. This is unspeakably heinous. I am simply fuming.

Joe Paterno was someone I idolized as I was a late-teen/early 20's D3 football player and high-school weightlifting and track coach. I wanted to be a leader like him. Someone who could inspire others to greatness through old-school hard work and respect in every aspect one’s life.

I work with several Penn State grads, and when this topic comes up they will talk nonsense about how no one can be sure of anything. They circle the wagons.

I understand, intellectually at least, that there was a lack of awareness about sex abuse issues back then and that attitudes weren’t nearly as enlightened on that subject as they are now (relatively speaking). I suppose I can see how a discomfort with the subject matter would lead someone towards inertia, the path of

I feel bad for the PSU administration. With all of this bad press, it’ll be difficult to raise funds for all six statues.

This shit right here is why I despise authoritarians and the systems that they worship. And there are few that have more of an imbalance of power than NCAA athletics, though the Catholic Church comes to mind. Basic human morality gets trumped by fear of systematic retribution and I don’t even know what else. I’m so

Then as many as six Penn State coaches should be serving 30-60 years right next to Sandysky. The idea that you could have first-hand knowledge of an adult molesting a child AND NOT SAY ANYTHING just doesn't even compute. Fuck those spineless sacks of shit.

This just keeps getting worse and worse. But I have to ask, where were these coaches when the story first broke? Why did no one come forward to back up McQuerry?

I’ve made no secret I want the football stadium burned to the fucking ground and the earth salted.

I want to demonize the entire coaching staff, to consider them a different species from the honest upstanding kinjaterriate, but honestly I don’t think either of us understand the pressure of a $70,000,000 a year

How come the next words out of that coach's mouth weren’t, “you wouldn’t believe what I just saw, I fucked Jerry up and I’m going to the cops.” Did this dude witness rape then go and watch film?? What the fuck?

Thank God the NCAA rescinded most of the sanctions, or else there might have been some real injustice done here.

Nuke Happy Valley from orbit.

I am a Pennsylvania resident and the amount of denial and angst from the Joe Paterno faithful is truly sad and frustrating. Even during a local political campaign I heard some voters inquire if Candidate X had made any statements against Joe Paterno and/or Penn State. As if Paterno is the real victim in all of

Counterpoint: more prescription medication

Less cocaine.
