Total shame. I hated that Rockstar’s RDR2 and GTAV had console-first launches but in hindsight they were able to place all their resources in fewer systems and work on the ports and multiplayer immediately after. Makes sense now and shameful display from CDPR.

Weird bugs like this is the only thing I miss concerning my “never buy games in the month of their launch” rule. Andromeda? Battlefield 1? All bought years later where they’ve been patched to a pretty playable state.

There’s a lot of emphasis on providing a smooth framerate. It can look cool, or stylish, or like 90's PS1 jank — but it has to run smoothly and reliably. Weird hangups or texture pop ruins a game of systems and having to hedge your bets against gremlins can get frustrating pretty quick.
